Psychiatrist (200-1344)

The Island Health Department of Psychiatry has a locum opportunity for a full-time Psychiatrist in the beautiful community of Parksville.

In this position you will provide consultation to patients and their families/caregivers, primary care physicians and fellow health care professionals in an outpatient setting. You will provide clinical expertise to the ASTAT/Addictions and the Outreach Teams. The practice is located in the new Oceanside Health Centre which offers an interdisciplinary team environment comprised of physicians and all allied and community health care providers in one state-of-the art location serving the communities of Parksville and Qualicum Beach. You will be available to your registered outpatients, with coverage as needed.

Supporting excellent learning experiences for medical and other students and residents and application for an appointment to the Department of Psychiatry and the Island Medical School of the University of British Columbia, are expectations of this position.

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including (subject to change)

The friendly and beautiful cities of Parksville and Qualicum, population approximately 48,000, are picturesque scenic seaside communities located on the east side of central Vancouver Island.
