Position Summary:

The Senior Advisor in Financial Performance, reporting to the Finance Director, plays a vital role in the financial and accounting functions of the company. They will assist in planning, operating, and supervising accounting activities, data entry, payments, financial aspects, and treasury functions.

The Senior Advisor in Financial Performance will contribute to budget and forecast preparation, financial results structuring and tracking, financial statements accuracy, compliance with regulations, financial audits leadership, and strategic financial guidance for business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Regularly conduct financial analysis to provide insights into business performance and trends.
    • Prepare comprehensive variance analysis for senior management.
    • Assist in month-end closing.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and industry standards.
    • Implement effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks.
    • Collaborate with external auditors for audits.
  • Treasury
    • Review cash flow to optimize working capital and liquidity.
    • Oversee treasury functions and cash management.
    • Review cash flow forecast for optimal working capital.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Support and lead budgeting process, working with department heads for financial goals.
    • Maintain financial forecasting models for decision-making.
    • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Financial Strategy & Planning
    • Provide strategic financial insights for long-term business plans.
    • Evaluate opportunities and provide financial analysis for decision-making.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Lead the finance team, mentor team members for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure financial considerations in decision-making through cross-functional collaboration.
    • Contribute to the company's values and mission.

Qualifications:

  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • CPA designation.
    • 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Bilingual in French and English.
    • In-depth knowledge of IFRS standards.
