Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching every Canadian affected by a brain tumour through advocacy, research, education, information, and support. We are made up of a dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and health care professionals, all working together for the same goal: to find the cause of and cure for brain tumours while improving the quality of life for those affected. Hope and support are at the core of everything we do.
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our Programs & Services team as a Community Resource Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Programs & Support Services, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing our resource offerings to continue to serve our diverse community. The primary responsibilities of this role include overseeing the review, updating and creation of various informational materials and developing a comprehensive Resource Hub leveraging creative formats such as care maps tailored to the needs of the different populations we serve.
Review and update existing handbooks, brochures, information sheets, and website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational objectives
Develop and maintain a comprehensive Resource Hub that serves as a central repository of relevant resources, information, and support services for individuals and families affected by brain tumours
Create care maps that outline appropriate resources and support networks for different demographics and stages of care, facilitating access to vital services and assistance
Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Programs and Services team, healthcare professionals and the brain tumour community, to identify gaps in resource availability and develop strategies to address them effectively
Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and advancements in the field of brain tumour care and support, incorporating relevant findings into resource development (ex. and service delivery

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while demonstrating adaptability to changing priorities
Demonstrated experience in content development, including writing, editing, and formatting of educational materials and resources
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required; experience with graphic design an asset
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, with a demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
