If this sounds like a place you might like to work and you feel that your experience matches the requirements below, we encourage you to contact us.This is a full time / permanent role.About the role:Heavy client facing focus, first point of contact with clients, pre-sales in a lot ways, but definitely a development role as well.Supports business analysts and developers on project teams as they document their data requirements and establish thorough specificationsConducts facilitation sessions to gather requirementsAbility to translate business requirements into technical requirements and architect a business-centric technical architectureBuilds logical modelsWorks with database administrators to build the physical model and overall data architectureReviews and reports on project metrics to benchmark effectivenessWorks closely with database administrators and developers to ensure that business models are accurately implemented in application systemsProvides education on the naming and modeling standards; assists with modeling specific constructsReviews project models to ensure adherence to standardsEnsures data quality alignmentWorks on and across multiple projects to ensure consistency in naming conventions and promotes the sharing and reuse of data across applications and business areasEnsures that data analysis goals are metThe following knowledge or skills are considered as necessary for this role: Bachelors in Computer Science with 6+ years of related experience3-5 years of Data Management ExperienceUnderstands database architectures, and data warehousing conceptsAbility to analyze data, and familiarity with data modeling, analysis and visualization tools (Excel, MS Power BI, Power Pivot/DAX, Power Query/M)Business Intelligence Experience, specifically MS Power BITechnical accomplishments in SQL, ETL, and data blending toolsProblem Solving SkillsTools (SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Data Platform (SQL DB, Blob, Data Factory, Automation, etc.) an asset.Understand the benefits of data warehousing, data architecture, data quality processes, data warehousing design and implementation, table structure, fact and dimension tables, logical and physical database design, data modeling, reporting process metadata, and ETL processesRequired Skills 5 - 7 years of PowerBI ExperienceSSAS and the design of tabular models, cube design and optimization.Data modeling, star and snowflake schema experience is a must. 4 - 5 years experience.Understanding of PowerBI security practices, ie. data masking, row level security.Solid understanding of DAX, 3-5 years experience minimum.ETL/SSIS experience.Minimum of 5 years IT experienceUtilize strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to share application expertise, communicate complex business problems, and facilitate discussion with stakeholders.Work closely with various business functional areas to understand, define system requirements and make recommendations for business solutions.Evaluate current system capabilities to identify changes that need to be made and determines the impact to the business.Will be responsible for creation and maintenance of documentation pertaining to product features, work processes, etc. for given area of expertise.All interested candidates should submit a copy of their resume with their application.
