T he Day Camp Leader works alongside with the Tenant Services Coordinator and take s the lead in the planning, development, and delivery of summer day camps for school-aged tenants at a social housing complex.
Plan s , coordinat e s, and implement s summer day camp activities
Promote s the summer camp program to tenants and handle s related inquiries and registration
Ensures the physical and emotional well-being of children during activities
Recruit s , train s , and supervise s volunteers to assist with implementation of daily activities
Assist s with related on-site summer activities
Assist s in budget control, report writing, program evaluation and community liaison
Education, Training and Experience:
Experience working with youth groups is an asset
Experience recruiting and working with youth volunteers is an asset
K now ledge of activity planning
Knowledge of youth safety
Additional Languages are considered an asset
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Excellent technical skills in MS Office or web-based applications
Ability to handle and manage private and confidential information
Ability to work with youth and volunteers
This position is funded by Employment and Social Development Canada through the Canada Summer Jobs Program and applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (international students are not eligible; recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents)
