Duties and responsibilities: Review:

  • Year-end working paper files and tax returns to ensure compliance with accounting and tax requirements
  • Payroll and sales tax returns
  • Personal tax returns
  • Partnership information returns
  • Trust returns
  • Write-ups for investment holding companies
  • Summarize issues that stem from year-end files and discuss planning points with the partner and clients

Planning, Tax, and Business Advisory:

  • Build relationships with clients to inhabit the role of the overall business advisor. Serve as a sounding board for challenges and new ideas.
  • Optimize shareholder compensation
  • Corporate reorganizations
  • Family trusts
  • Holding companies
  • Business acquisition or divestment
  • Real estate purchases
  • Estate planning
  • Life and long-term disability insurance
  • Preparation of cash flows and projections
  • Evaluate controls in the accounting environment and make recommendations for improvement
  • Serve as primary liaison between US tax professionals and lawyers when implementing planning
  • Assess business opportunities
  • Comment on contracts and agreements
  • Assist with corporate valuations
  • Wills and estate planning

Business and Staff Development:

  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current with accounting standards and relevant tax legislation
  • Share new developments with peers
  • Develop and build relationships with aligned professionals (corporate and tax lawyers, insurance brokers, wealth management advisors) as a source of expertise and possible new business

Examiner :
  • Les dossiers de travail de fin d'année et les déclarations fiscales pour s'assurer de la conformité avec les exigences comptables et fiscales.
  • Déclarations de salaires et de taxes sur les ventes
  • Déclarations fiscales des particuliers
  • Déclarations d'informations sur les sociétés de personnes
  • Déclarations des fiducies
  • les écritures pour les sociétés de portefeuille d'investissement.
  • Résumer les questions qui découlent des dossiers de fin d'année et discuter des points de planification avec l'associé et le client.2Planification, fiscalité et conseil aux entreprises :
Établir des relations avec les clients afin d'assumer le rôle de conseiller en affaires. Servir de caisse de résonance pour les défis et les nouvelles idées.

Développement des activités et du personnel :
  • Participer à des activités de développement professionnel pour se tenir au courant des normes comptables et de la législation fiscale pertinente.
  • Partager les nouveaux développements avec les pairs
  • Développer et établir des relations avec des professionnels (avocats d'affaires et fiscalistes, courtiers d'assurance, conseillers en gestion de patrimoine) en tant que source d'expertise et de nouvelles affaires potentielles.
