Lead landscaping employees in maintaining commercial properties and ensure all operations are conducted efficiently and to company standards.
Plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise landscaping operations, activities, and employees.
Oversee and direct employees in performing landscaping duties, including lawn maintenance, planting, weeding, watering, and hardscape installation to maintain a high level of quality across all properties.
Manage landscaping operations to ensure that company standards are met and that all properties, including various commercial sites, are maintained effectively.
Supervise the installation of concrete foundations, hardscape elements, and other landscape structures as required.
Ensure the proper training and development of new employees in all landscaping operations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain an adequate inventory of landscaping supplies and materials.
Ensure the availability of equipment operators and drivers for landscaping and maintenance tasks as required.
Monitor the use, maintenance, and repair of landscaping vehicles and equipment.
Direct employees in preparation for seasonal changes, including winter snow removal and summer maintenance tasks.
Ensure employees uphold all general housekeeping duties for common areas, including maintenance facilities and equipment storage spaces.
Keep employees updated on safety protocols and company policies through regular meetings, including morning briefings, daily tailgate meetings, and one-on-one directives.
Enforce adherence to company safety policies, general policies, and procedures, addressing any non-compliance as per company disciplinary protocols.
Adhere to external and internal guidelines, including WSIB Legislation, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act, Employment Legislation, Ontario Health & Safety Act (OHSA), and company policies and procedures.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in landscaping or property management.
Management of multiple commercial properties or sites.
Experience in construction, excavation, and heavy equipment operation (e.g., front-end loader).
Knowledge of four-season landscaping and property management (hardscape, softscape, concrete foundations, snow clearing, turf management, etc.).
Experience in building maintenance.
Managing subcontractors and site inspections.
Experience conducting training, tailgate meetings, and foreman meetings.
Project management experience is an asset.
Ability to read maps, blueprints, and site plans.
This position requires a hands-on leader who can efficiently manage landscaping crews, oversee multiple properties, and ensure high-quality maintenance and project execution.
