The Project Technologist provides technical support for our projects and works alongside the site supervisor dealing with estimating, scheduling, reporting and quality management for civil construction projects. Assisting in estimating and QA/QC the position is based out of our Red Deer office when not in the field supporting a project and LOA/Subsistence is available for workers living more than 100km from home on a project location. This position offers a competitive hourly rate with company supplied benefits and a company vehicle with personal use.

Directly reports to VP of Construction.
Retains and organizes testing records, field inspections and associated reports.
Ensures the Project Management Team sees all paperwork passed to client.
Looks after or oversees the day-to-day job cost sheets inclusive of ensuring all subcontractors are accounted for and billed out daily.
Attends and provides all forecasting with Superintendent's help for project meetings.
Assists in scheduling the project in logical steps and budgets time required to meet deadlines.
Manages the Inspection and Test Plan.
Field Coordination of surveyors and soils testers.
Manages Redline drawings using standardized Document Control procedures.
Preparation of RFI, NCR and Change Proposal documents.
Maintain master schedule for the project and identify and record the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual construction progress and provide regular updates.
Implementation of industry standard quality control and assurance practices.
Post-Secondary education in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
1 - 3 yrs. experience in the civil construction industry.
Prior experience with Primavera or other scheduling / cost tracking software is an asset.
Prior experience working as the Prime Contractor and managing all sub-contractors (including but not limited to: Piling, Survey, Hydrovac, Aggregates, etc) is an asset
Able to pass a Pre-Access Drug & Alcohol Test.
