The ideal candidate will lead a team ensuring top-notch quality and certification compliance. Your role involves overseeing cost allocation, coordinating Quality Control efforts, and driving innovation in product development processes. Representing the company in industry-standard processes, you'll lead problem-solving initiatives and provide crucial support for Purchasing and Sourcing. Your leadership will shape our quality strategies and technical support efforts.
Responsibilities
Review certification costs, approve invoices, and allocate costs accurately to the General Ledger.
Coordinate with operations to ensure uniform Quality Control and Quality Assurance efforts.
Act as a key resource in the new product development process, particularly in understanding standards and certifications.
Represent the company in standard writing processes such as CSA, ASTM, UL, and BNQ.
Lead data-driven problem-solving exercises across departments.
Provide product certification requirements for Purchasing and Sourcing activities.
Maintain standard product specifications for production facilities.
Offer assistance with post-sale construction issues for timely and cost-effective resolution.
Provide application engineering support internally and externally to support sales.
Manage standard quality plans, sales materials, and technical field support for all products.
Qualifications
P. Eng or P.E. licensure is required
3+ years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with single-screw extrusion process is a plus
Knowledge of Mechanical design principles including manufacturing/machine shop techniques, materials & material strengths, and standard mechanical and electrical components to be incorporated within designs.
Strong technical skill and experience with Inventor 3D CAD software, in both 3D design and 2D drawings,
Ability to work from/with sketches and clearly issue and communicate sketches and instructions to project team members.
Leadership and mentoring: Confidence in leading organizational change.
Ability to use test and scientific method.
