Brunel is partnered with a major Oil and Gas organization, seeking a skilled Project Engineer (PE) with strong project management capabilities to join their Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project team.
This position, based in the downtown Calgary office, will report to the group Manager. The PE will manage and support assigned projects within the NGL and CCS portfolio.

Responsibilities:
Efficiently complete assigned work or projects within established budgets, schedules, and project objectives, while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety, environmental stewardship, and respectfulness.
Take ownership of scope definition throughout project phases and manage scope control during execution to safeguard the project's business case.
Develop integrated project schedules, incorporating resource allocation as necessary, to ensure seamless progress across all project stages.
Establish robust philosophies, strategies, and plans during initial project phases to minimize the need for changes during execution and construction.
Develop comprehensive execution, procurement, fabrication/modularization, and contracting plans, including inspection and logistics arrangements, to ensure contractor and project success.
Vet and control proposed scope changes, maintaining authority over scopes, budgets, schedules, and targets.
Formulate strategies to adhere to approved budgets or mitigate scope expansion when necessary.
Monitor, review, and approve technical deliverables and changes to prevent cost overruns and schedule delays, collaborating closely with project leadership.
Facilitate timely involvement of key stakeholders to mitigate cost and schedule impacts arising from late changes.
Coordinate interface management between projects, EPs, and suppliers with parallel scopes, managed by separate teams.
Manage all interfaces pertaining to EP Contractor scope, making decisions on scope, schedule, and cost.
Foster effective communication and coordination among all disciplines and project participants, including IPL stakeholders.
Engage regulatory bodies as needed and provide support during commissioning and handover of projects from Project Development to Operations.

Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of project experience, with a blend of Owner and EP experience, and direct construction and/or fabrication exposure.
Proficiency in project planning and execution activities, including project controls/change management, supply chain, regulatory compliance, contracting, inspection, and commissioning/start-up.
Experience with gas and liquids facilities.
Proactive and driven individual with strong initiative and interpersonal skills.
P.Eng. certification required.
