We are seeking to hire an RPG (Report Program Generator)  remotejob , to work in the modernization of existing applications with one of the marketleader providers of IBM i(AS/400).

The individual will participatein large RPG modernization project and will implement and adapt currentapplication for integration and/or new features.

· Represents ou client in a positive manner inall aspects of the position to include courtesy and respect for others on theteam and conveying an ethical approach to business situations. Also promotes ourclient to customers, other team members, and the marketplaces in general.

· Ability to take business processing issues and automatethem through technology.

· Understands functionality (through conducting userinterviews) and can identify and write specifications to change or enhanceprogram or system.

· Ability to determine potential business impacts of proposedchanges and enhancements to other aspects of the business.

· Estimate programming effort involved based on programspecifications; adjust same as conditions change.

· Development of test plan, create and coordinate usertesting and ensure that tests meet user requirements.

· Establish documentation requirements and promote strictadherence.

· Identify, analyze, and confirm problems and their causesand then provide solutions.

· Write complex batch and inquiry/maintenance programs usingRPGIV, RPGLE, DDS and CL Programming.

· Effectively produces and communicates status reports (inverbal and written form) to project manager; ability to tailor technicalcommunications to audience and successfully documents module, application,system-level and/or business level objectives.

· Performs job responsibilities exhibiting ownership ofduties and independence.

· Developing skills in identifying opportunities, solicitingbusiness and in writing small proposals.

· Sound knowledge of platform utilities.

· Knowledge of the JD Edwards operating system andfamiliarization with basic data communication terminology and communicationfunctions, including client access.

· Strong RPG programming coding techniques anddatabase techniques.
