Headquartered in picturesque Parry Sound, Ontario, about two hours north of Toronto, this is a growing professionally managed and run organization. The Opportunity:Reporting to an experienced Maintenance Manager, our client is seeking an energetic, reliable, and flexible team player. The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright is responsible routine preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting and inspections of a diverse range of food packaging and processing equipment, and a water recycling system, boilers etc. Job Duties & Responsibilities:Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse range of industrial food equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, agitators, plumbing, filling equipment, packaging equipment, and refrigeration systems.Ensure that all equipment is maintained in accordance with the Food Safety Preventative Maintenance Plan and all service manuals.Assist in the development of Preventative Maintenance Schedules for pieces of equipment with no documented PM plan.Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the startup, operation, and regular maintenance of all systems and equipment with your purview.Perform scheduled checks, reviews, and maintenance of all equipment, and systems within your purview.Complete and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance records.Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot mechanical problems and failures in equipment to determine root causes and implement effective solutions, minimizing production downtime.Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, parts used, and any observations or measurements.Input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System(CMMS).Communicate regularly with Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Coordinator about any developing potential problems and advise of appropriate steps to resolve the issue.Work collaboratively with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and production staff to diagnose complex issues, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.Be familiar with and have regard for HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Food Safety, Food Security, Organic Certification, Standard Operating Procedures and all other applicable regulatory and company programs and policies.Provide technical support to production teams during equipment changeovers and setups.Identify possible improvement initiatives to reduce operational costs or improve production efficiency.Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, adjustment, and part replacement, to prevent equipment breakdowns and ensure consistent performance.Receptive to a flexible work style and willingly assisting with other functions where needed.Work with machining equipment such as lathes, welders, drill press, grinders, pneumatic press.Other duties may be assigned to the Employee as required.Key Qualifications & Competencies:High School DiplomaCompletion of Apprenticeship Program And / OR related Post-Secondary DiplomaMillwright Red Seal license 433A OR related license preferred3-5+ years related experience as a Maintenance MechanicIdeally Food & Beverage Manufacturing industry experience or relatedDemonstrated track-record of performance related accomplishmentsDemonstrated deeper understanding of the tradeFlexible, adaptable and team oriented attitude, self-start work ethicExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHours may vary, from time to time, according to production requirements, maintenance work, and repairs.This position may periodically require you to start work prior to the day’s production or continue after production finishes.You must be willing to work on weekends and holidays to perform maintenance tasks which cannot be completed during normal production hours.
