AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Municipal Infrastructure Civil Engineer for employment based in the Kelowna, BC office. The successful candidate will have an understanding and significant experience in civil engineering, civil technology, and construction management principles and is very familiar with the design and construction of municipal infrastructure. She/he will be expected to work successfully within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and customers. He/she will have a high level of initiative, motivation, and display drive, energy, and enthusiasm for getting things done. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers mostly within the municipal water and wastewater sectors.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Design of civil systems associated with municipal water and/or wastewater treatment and conveyance facilities
  2. Design of systems associated with lift stations, pump stations, and other mechanical equipment associated with water and wastewater utilities
  3. Perform constructability reviews
  4. Perform construction inspections
  5. Lead construction administration
  6. Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
  7. Prepare construction cost estimates
  8. Preparation of project specifications and contract documents

Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; assistance with proposal preparation; contract preparation and negotiation; coordination with regulatory agencies; project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering + 4 years of related experience with civil engineering, planning, design, and construction inspection, municipal water and wastewater treatment, conveyance, and pumping infrastructure or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Registered EIT

Preferred Qualifications

P.Eng
5+ years of related experience
MMCD Contract Administration certification
Training and experience in project management
Experience in proposal writing and job scoping
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Valid BC Class V Driver's License
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and clients
Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
