Position Overview:
Viral Nation is looking for a highly-skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic organization. The Engineering Manager is a leadership role responsible for managing and leading an engineering team to deliver high-quality solutions. This role involves a combination of technical expertise, delivery management, and people leadership.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment;
Drive team cohesion, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members;
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product management to drive successful project outcomes;
Identify potential risks in projects and implement strategies to mitigate them; communicate project status, technical updates, and challenges to stakeholders;
Review and manage delivery metrics of the team; provide recommendations to ensure the team is operating at optimal efficiency;
Provide technical guidance and support to team members;
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality standards;
Collaborate with team members and architects to solve complex technical challenges;
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members;
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with individual team members to promote a culture of ongoing feedback;
Identify and support professional development opportunities for individuals on the team.
Qualifications and Skills:
A minimum of 4+ years of proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within an engineering team.
Strong technical background with hands-on experience delivering engineering projects.
Strong background in software architecture and best practices in software development.
Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills.
Delivery management experience, including planning, execution and reporting.
Ability to make strategic decisions and collaborate with product owners to prioritize tasks effectively.
Clear and concise cross-functional communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, OR relevant experience.
