Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager
Our client, a local engineering consulting firm for mechanical and electrical building services, is currently seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer / Project Manager to join their team immediately on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be joining a dynamic team of senior engineers who possess years of industry experience and knowledge. You will be working out of their office in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Ability to lead multiple projects at the same time, working with both external project teams and internal design teams to develop the mechanical designs for a variety of buildings
Provide consultation with clients on initial mechanical engineering designs including options for systems, space planning exercises, and general consultation
Inspect sites prior to commencement of the detailed design and assess existing conditions and measurements
Providing technical direction/markups and managing workload to complete projects successfully
Leading a team of designers and CAD operators towards completion of the design documentation
Coordinating, assessing and organizing the work of the various projects
Periodic reviews of work under construction, review, interface with clients and contractors
Review of shop drawings, requests for information, maintain prompt project correspondence
Using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to design the systems required for the various projects
Graduate with a 4-year Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering
~7 years or more of progressive North American experience in the field of building services design
~ Licensed member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Familiarity with OBC, CSA regulations governing the building services activity
~ Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects, good organizational skills
~ Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite and HVAC energy modeling and sizing/selection software
~ Proven ability to lead a small team of 3 to 4 team members on multiple projects simultaneously
~ Excellent organizational and time management skills
~ Ability to effectively resolve construction issues, manage client expectations, review construction sites, liaise with contractors, and other contract administration requirements.
