Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Learning & Development Specialist is a critical role responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and professional development programs that support organizational growth, employee skill enhancement, and strategic talent development.
Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments across the organization to identify skill gaps and learning opportunities.
Design and develop engaging training content, including instructor-led workshops, e-learning modules, and blended learning programs.
Create and maintain a robust learning management system (Dayforce) to track and manage employee training progress.
Collaborate with 3rd party vendors for learning & development opportunities for individual employees and teams.
Collaborate with department heads to align training initiatives with organizational goals and strategic objectives.
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback, performance metrics, and return on investment (ROI) analysis.
Assist the organization in an HR Business Partner capacity when required.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in learning and development, training, or instructional design, preferably in a manufacturing / construction setting.
Strong instructional design skills with experience in creating various learning content formats
Analytical mindset with the ability to measure training effectiveness.
Creative problem-solving.
Project management.
Ability to work in an office environment.
Occasional travel may be required for on-site training and workshops to the Niagara region and the US.
Comfortable working with computer systems for extended periods.
