Manufacturing Plant Superintendent 1st Shift

Position: Superintendent – Production Location: Hearst, ON
We have a deep connection to Canada's forest lands and sustainability. GreenFirst is looking for a Superintendent to plan, organize and direct operations (sawmill and planer mill) to ensure consistent production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost and promote sound human resources management and to also maintain the alignment of the sawmill and planning mills with the principles and objectives defined in the Results Management Framework, working within the concept of optimizing the overall profitability of the site.
Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance.
• Establish the production schedules and coordinate manufacturing operations in cooperation with the various departments to ensure that product quality meets specifications.
• Optimize use of human resources by promoting good labour relations, sound training, health, safety and environmental practices to maximize efficiency.
• Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets and financial objectives (cost control and reduction).
• Keep production schedules up-to-date to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, specifications and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
• Implement manufacturing of value-added products.
• Collaborate with other staff to develop and implement processes for continuous improvement in quality and production.
• Promote sound management and ensure that training needs of operations are identified and completed.
• In conjunction with other operating departments, determine the manning composition required for the site and the necessary training required to meet manning objectives.
• Minimum 5 years Supervisory experience in Production.
• A college diploma or university degree would be an asset.
• English, spoken and written, French would be considered an asset.

GreenFirst recherche un(e) surintendant(e) chargé(e) de planifier, d'organiser et de diriger les opérations (scierie et usine de rabotage) afin d'assurer une production constante de produits de haute qualité au coût le plus bas possible et de promouvoir une bonne gestion des ressources humaines, ainsi que de maintenir l'alignement de la scierie et des usines de rabotage sur les principes et les objectifs définis dans le cadre de gestion des résultats, en travaillant dans le concept d'optimisation de la rentabilité globale du site.

Promouvoir et assurer la sécurité du lieu de travail, rechercher des améliorations, soutenir le programme de santé et de sécurité.
• Encadrer et guider les employés afin de garantir des performances optimales.
• Maintenir un programme de communication afin de tenir votre équipe informée des priorités de l'usine et du service.
• Établir les calendriers de production et coordonner les opérations de fabrication en collaboration avec les différents services afin de s'assurer que la qualité des produits est conforme aux spécifications.
• Optimiser l'utilisation des ressources humaines en favorisant de bonnes relations de travail, une formation solide et des pratiques en matière de santé, de sécurité et d'environnement afin de maximiser l'efficacité.
• Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des plans pour utiliser efficacement les matériaux, la main-d'œuvre et les équipements afin d'atteindre les objectifs de production et les objectifs financiers (contrôle et réduction des coûts).
• Tenir à jour les programmes de production afin de vérifier les données relatives aux produits, telles que les types, les quantités, les spécifications et les dates de livraison prévues, en vue de planifier les opérations du département.
• Mettre en œuvre la fabrication de produits à valeur ajoutée.
• Collaborer avec les autres membres du personnel pour élaborer et mettre en œuvre des processus d'amélioration continue de la qualité et de la production.
• Promouvoir une gestion saine et veiller à ce que les besoins en formation des opérations soient identifiés et satisfaits.
• En collaboration avec d'autres départements opérationnels, déterminer la composition des effectifs requis pour le site et la formation nécessaire pour atteindre les objectifs en matière d'effectifs.
• Au moins 5 ans d'expérience dans la supervision de la production.
• Un diplôme d'études collégiales ou universitaires serait un atout.
• Anglais, parlé et écrit, le français serait un atout.
