What you’ll do

Monitor Month End & Pre Month End Cycles in accordance with the business requirements

Understand the relationship between data and business outcomes and can focus on long term strategies for data

Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as necessary.

Improve ETL performance for enterprise data warehouse system to shorten batch run completion time. Performance improvement from better table/index design and ETL code design.

Maintain build and release plans for new functionality and enhancements.

Establish and manage procedures for reviewing, estimating, and accepting development work requests on BAU Requests or Projects

Must be able to identify any gaps in the business requirement and assist Business Analyst to rectify the gaps

Introduce and enforce effective software development practices, coding standards and methodologies aimed at controlling costs and delivering quality solutions on a timely basis while building a strong well-motivated development team

Support high level end-to-end architecture design from business requirement for ODS/Enterprise data warehouse type systems

Maintain reconciliation procedure (between systems) to facilitate audit trail

Use appropriate ETL tools (Informatica, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting) to facilitate efficient data transformation

Be proficient in the use of dynamic SQL when data transformation logic is table driven or via configuration file

Improve ETL performance for ODS and enterprise data warehouse system to shorten batch run completion time. Performance improvement from better table/index design and ETL code design.

Lead and champion the continuous development of the Systems Analysis function, promoting and enhancing the Systems Analysis tools/templates, techniques and approaches within the organization.

Work with subcontractors and Project Managers to ensure completion of agreed activities.

Remain abreast of relevant technology developments.

May act as the scrum master in a pod when working with Agile Methodology

Adhere to Agile and development best practices.

Perform analysis and defect and issue triage during project development.

Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering would be an asset

4+ years of experience in Informatica ETL Development

2+ years of programming experience in Unix Shell Scripting

3+ years of experience in a data-driven software engineering environment

Preferred 2+ years of experience in Software Development and/ or Quality Engineering

Experience administering SQL Databases like Oracle SQL, Unix, MySQL

Advanced Knowledge of Oracle , Postgress, Access Skills

Strong skills in writing SQLS for any of the relational Databases (DB2,MS SQL Server, Oracle DB, Postgres, MySQL)

Ability to write and dissect complex SQL Queries

A deep understanding of SQL and relational database schema design.

Strong understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, ETL strategies and best practices.

Good Experience in Data Modelling Skills

Good Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle(SDLC) (Agile, Waterfall, Iterative)

A proven track record in building and maintaining a reliable, high performance data pipeline that processes a large amount of structured data from various sources.

Experience being a member of a design, development project team building Business Intelligence and reporting solutions

An appetite for problem solving with a creative and resourceful approach to finding the right solution for the job.

Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines in a fast paced agile environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Critical and independent thinking skills

Strong Verbal and written communication and presentation skills
