Wood Project Engineering Manager

Wood is currently seeking a Project Engineering Manager to join our Mining & Minerals team in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The Project Engineering Manager will apply extensive and comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the organization’s products and services. They will plan, schedule, and assign/supervise or conduct broad and/or technically complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, independent evaluation, selection, and significant adaptation and deviation from standard techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage a team of Engineers and Designers on specific projects
  2. Plan and coordinate engineering activities or serve as an individual expert on projects
  3. Provide leadership, supervision, mentoring, and training to the Engineering team
  4. Interface between Engineering and other project disciplines
  5. Maintain a close working relationship with the Client Engineering Manager
  6. Prepare and manage the engineering module of the Project Management Plan
  7. Ensure technical progress and productivity meet quality standards
  8. Identify and secure necessary approvals for project changes
  9. Supervise proposals, contract design, specifications, and other engineering documentation
  10. Drive health, safety, and environment programs at the project level
  11. Ensure ethical and professional practices in engineering work

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • Minimum of 8-12 years of progressive engineering consulting project experience
  • Demonstrated experience as an Engineering Manager in the mining industry
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Saskatoon area if required
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood
