Job Description

Our Parks, Recreation & Culture Department is seeking an energetic and organized individual to work on a full-time basis as a Recreation Leader – Fitness.

In this position you will coordinate a variety of programming tasks for the fitness program, including assisting in the planning, delivery, coordination, marketing, budgeting and evaluation of the Fitness Program. You will also assist with the recruitment and supervision of fitness instructors and weight room attendants.

We are looking for a self-directed individual who is able to effectively organize and prioritize their workload and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced recreation environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma along with a BCRPA or CFES Supervisor of Fitness Leaders award supplemented by a supervisory course, or academic equivalent, and a minimum of three years’ experience in a fitness environment combined with experience in program planning, administration, supervisor and training of staff in a recreation environment or a combination of education, training and experience. You must have valid Standard First Aid, CPR Level C certification, and a valid BC driver’s licence.

Additional Information

The current hourly rate of pay for a Recreation Leader - Fitness is $36.17. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including the Municipal Pension Plan. You will work Tuesday to Saturday (nine-day fortnight schedule)from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
