We are motivated by the difference that this product will make in our user's lives.Job DescriptionFallyx needs a Senior Hardware Engineer. Your work will involve enhancing our current hardware system by developing custom hardware to record IMU/location data, creating firmware for various boards and gateways, and ensuring accurate and reliable data transmission at all times. You'll have the opportunity to add new sensors and IoT devices to improve the system's accuracy and reliability. We also want everything to be custom-manufactured to reduce reliance on external companies.Specific ResponsibilitiesHardware System Enhancement: Improve our existing hardware system by designing and implementing custom versions of our products.Firmware Development: Develop and optimize firmware for microcontroller-based boards and gateways to capture and transmit 6-axis inertial data, location information, and capacitive touch/temperature readings. Ensure continuous and accurate data transmission.PCB Design: Design, develop, and test custom printed circuit boards (PCBs) to support our hardware systems. Lead the design and production of these custom hardware components to ensure independence from third-party suppliersRF Circuit Testing: Conduct RF circuit testing to ensure reliable wireless communication.BLE and Wi-Fi Protocols: Work on BLE and Wi-Fi protocols to ensure efficient data transmission.Chipsets: Utilize NRF Nordic and ESP32 chipsets in hardware design and development.SDK Knowledge: Use Software Development Kits (SDKs) to expedite development processes.Software Integration: Work closely with our software to ensure seamless integration with our machine learning algorithms, AWS infrastructure, and other software components.Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.2-3 years of hands-on experience in hardware development and firmware programming. Proven experience in building production-level products that operate reliably in real-world environments over extended periods.Strong proficiency in C/C++ and experience with microcontroller programming.Experience with IoT devices, sensor integration, and wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).Proven track record in custom hardware design and manufacturing.Experience with PCB design, RF circuit testing, BLE and Wi-Fi protocols, NRF Nordic, and ESP32 chipsets.Knowledge of relevant SDKs for hardware development.Location/Job SpecificsOur office is based in Toronto, Canada. We prefer in-person but remote is an option based on the circumstances.This initial contract job can turn into a full-time job with equity and salary compensation depending on the results of the contract portion.8 hour shifts, Monday-Friday.Nice To HaveFamiliarity with machine learning applications in hardware systems.Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.Familiarity with health monitoring systems and the associated regulatory requirements.Contact InformationInterested in joining the team?
