Lead interface between the Chief Engineering team and the Product Release Center, primarily responsible for managing system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the EDM gearbox.
Design Systems / Applications Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer for multiple programs.
Interfacing with individual Design Release Engineers and COEs
Schedules hardware system design reviews across PRC and reviews DRE design proposals as required.
Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis / CAE team and ensures Virtual DVP / Scorecard is completed prior to any prototype hardware orders.
Manage Driveline System and Interface DFMEA / DRBFM (team) reviews to ensure complete transparency and development of cohesive Design Controls leading to Robust DVP Actions.
Leads Technical Cost Reductions (TCRs) / Value Optimization (VO) effort and alignment working closely with PRC, DVC and VO teams - moved from AE responsibilities to align better.
Represents CE in managing the "lessons learned” document for the program and ensure that TS (Technical Specialist) receive those updates on a timely manner to update the E-BPs accordingly.
0-3 years engineering experience.
~ 5 years of engineering experience in driveline, axles, transmission, electrified driveline systems, or powertrain systems engineering experience.
~ Gearbox, Driveline or Axle Design Release Responsibility.
~ Master in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical or Equivalent.
~ General knowledge and experience of powertrain duty cycle analysis.
~ Knowledge in application of Functional Block Diagrams, Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R).
~ Experience with electric motors for automotive applications.
~ Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects to successful conclusion.
~ Bachelor in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical or Equivalent.
