About This Role:

As a DevOps & System Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in creating, maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure. Your expertise will span various CI/CD platforms, cloud services, and containerization technologies. You'll orchestrate seamless deployments, ensuring reliability and scalability across our systems. From managing configurations to automating workflows, you'll streamline our development processes and enhance efficiency. Your adaptability and proficiency with diverse tech stacks will be essential as we navigate complex environments. You’ll be working with highly scalable infrastructure that many Canadians use every day. Join our team to drive innovation and empower our technology to meet evolving demands.

Responsibilities:
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS or GCP, optimizing for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and management tasks using tools like Ansible, or Terraform.
  • Manage server updates, upgrades, and patches to ensure system security and performance
  • Manage and maintain our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable automated build, test, and deployment processes across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize application performance, and enhance system reliability.
  • Provide architectural guidance to development and product teams regarding the implementation of various technologies and systems.
  • Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance.
  • Write scripts in Bash and Python to automate various tasks
  • Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and security posture, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Continually improve monitoring and reliability by creating new monitors and automation to keep services online
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations to maintain a reliable knowledge base and facilitate knowledge sharing among team members.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, continuously evaluating and recommending new tools and practices to improve our infrastructure and development workflows.
Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud systems and/or system administration
  • Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, including experience deploying and managing containerized applications.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation and scripting tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferential consideration may be given to candidates who are willing & able to attend Rentsync's St. Catharines office on infrequent occasions.
