Senior Accountant, Corporate Services Accounting

The Senior Accountant Contract will be responsible for using their hands-on accounting experience and in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices, to perform accounting activities and financial analyses for DPW Canada Business Units.



Prepare and enter monthly and standard journal entries into the accounting system to meet month-end accounting requirements.
Provide month-end reconciliations to the GL and sub accounts and prepare weekly and/or monthly reports and statements.
Perform inter-company reconciliation functions and communicate with the other Business Units to resolve discrepancies.
Provide support for weekly and monthly statistics, financial analysis and operational management reports for decision making
Assist the finance team to prepare accurate, timely and reliable monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS, including necessary reporting.
Provide support on internal & external audits.
Assist in the budget preparation and analysis.
Maintain compliance with company accounting policies, procedures and established internal controls.
Qualifications , Experience, Job Function & Technical Knowledge and Skills
A degree in Finance or Accounting, combined with your CPA (CA, CGA, CMA) designation.
Experience with Oracle Fusion is an asset.
Knowledge of the marine terminals, freight forwarding or logistics industry is an asset
Sound judgement and analytical thinking that enables decision making, ability to manage projects and prioritize and manage timelines.
Ability to build and maintain good working relationships and achieve buy in and ownership to quality standards/ initiatives.
