Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas.
  2. Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per quality standards and/or Safe Quality Food requirements.
  3. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, providing measurable improvements and enhancements to systems.
  4. Plan and perform complex corrective and preventative maintenance requiring a thorough knowledge of mechanical theories and principles.
  5. Understand and baseline the current state in terms of the effectiveness of work order planning and scheduling and cost (materials, resources, time) implications.
  6. Master the basics of the CMMS system utilized at the plant (SAP-PM) and become knowledgeable with system reporting and work order systems and methods.
  7. Improve communications between teams and show an improvement in the effectiveness of work order completion rate, reduction in backlog, and prioritize work orders with improved methods and procedures in place.
  8. Optimize and effectively accomplish all work and work orders (from breakdown to condition-based) and lead in the development of rules and controls over the planning and scheduling efforts.
  9. Contribute to measurable improvements in scheduled, unscheduled, and breakdown maintenance-related downtime and costs associated with these events to contribute to CPC (cost per case) goals for each plant.
  10. Daily completion of all documentation including but not limited to daily log, downtime detail report, completed work orders, completed PMs, inventory issue slips, material requisitions, and Maintenance Work Requests (MWRs).
Skills/Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
Thorough technical knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance, including relevant regulations, standards, and codes. Ability to read and understand complex diagrams. Capable of MOS leadership skills combined with a team player attitude. Thorough understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices. Ability to read and understand complex piping diagrams and mechanical drawings. Objective judgment and fact-based decision-making approach. Strong multi-tasking competency. Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule. Must be a self-starter who is able to work in a team and independently.
Education and Experience:
Interprovincial Journeyman License Millwright or (Dual Ticket – Electrician/Millwright an asset). Must have 4th Class Power Engineer Certificate. 5 years production/line machine maintenance experience. Line maintenance within a food and beverage production environment preferred.
