Position Summary: 

You a bilingual Registered Nurse looking for an opportunity to share your leadership skills and help create a Hospice Residence which supports a Francophone home life environment for people and their loved ones at end of life. 

Under the direction of the Director of Francophone Services, the Residence Team Leader oversees the day-to-day management and delivery of quality care to clients and their families/caregivers in the Maison de l’Est residence at Hospice Care Ottawa and supervises unionized employees of the residence care team (RNs, RPNs and PSWs). The Team Leader is responsible for program management, human resources management and planning and development of the residence care team. 

The Residence Team Leader is a Registered Nurse (RN) with specialized training and experience in hospice palliative care. As part of our inaugural Residence Care Team at Maison de l’Est, you will be leading the care in a primarily Francophone setting supporting a home-like, peaceful and culturally appropriate environment.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Possess a Bachelor of Science – Nursing (BScN) 
  • Registration as an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • CHPCNC – Certified in Hospice Palliative Care Nursing (C) preferred
  • LEAP Certificate (Learning Essential Approaches in Palliative Care), or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hiring
  • Current CPR/BLS 
  • At least three (3) years or more direct experience in hospice palliative care 
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory experience that includes leadership, administration, supervision of staff, program development/evaluation, risk management, health and safety 
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Knowledge of and experience in working in an interdisciplinary client care environment
  • Excellent communication skills French and English. Bilingualism mandatory.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, and able to commute between Hospice Care Ottawa locations when required

Vous êtes un(e) infirmier(ère) autorisé(e) bilingue à la recherche d'une occasion de partager vos compétences en leadership et de contribuer à la création d'une résidence de soins palliatifs qui soutient un environnement de vie à domicile francophone pour les personnes en fin de vie et leurs proches. 

Sous la direction de la Direction des services francophones de la Maison de soins palliatifs d’Ottawa (MSPO), le/la chef(fe) d'équipe de la résidence supervise la gestion quotidienne et la prestation de soins de qualité aux clients et à leurs familles/soignants dans la Maison de l'Est et supervise les employés syndiqués de l'équipe de soins de la résidence (infirmières et infirmiers autorisés, infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires et préposés aux services de soutien personnel). Le/la chef(fe) d'équipe est responsable de la gestion des programmes, de la gestion des ressources humaines ainsi que de la planification et du développement de l'équipe de soins en résidence. 

Le/la chef(fe) d'équipe est un(e) infirmier(e) autorisé(e) qui possède une formation spécialisée et de l'expérience en soins palliatifs. En tant que membre de l'équipe inaugurale de soins en résidence de la Maison de l'Est, vous dirigerez les soins dans un milieu principalement francophone, en favorisant un environnement familial, paisible et culturellement approprié.

La Maison de l'Est est un nouveau site de soins palliatifs pour la MSPO et c'est une excellente occasion pour vous de faire partie de l'équipe qui lancera les nouveaux services. Vous travaillerez dans un environnement qui reflétera la culture et les valeurs francophones tout en fournissant des soins en anglais au besoin. Faites partie de notre équipe pour fournir des soins dans cet environnement unique.

Qualifications et expérience: 

  • Posséder un baccalauréat en sciences infirmières (BScN) 
  • Être inscrit à l'Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l'Ontario à titre d'infirmière ou d'infirmier autorisé(e).
  • CHPCNC - Certified in Hospice Palliative Care Nursing (C) de préférence
  • Certificat LEAP (Learning Essential Approaches in Palliative Care), ou volonté d'obtenir ce certificat dans les 6 mois suivants l'embauche.
  • RCR/BLS à jour 
  • Au moins trois (3) ans d'expérience directe en soins palliatifs
  • Au moins une (1) année d'expérience en supervision comprenant le leadership, l'administration, la supervision du personnel, l'élaboration et l'évaluation de programmes, la gestion des risques, la santé et la sécurité
  • Expérience de travail dans un environnement syndiqué
  • Connaissance et expérience du travail dans un environnement interdisciplinaire de soins aux clients.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication en français et en anglais. Le bilinguisme est obligatoire.

  • Capacité à communiquer efficacement avec tact et diplomatie 
  • Solides compétences informatiques (MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) 
  • Capacité de travailler selon un horaire flexible et de faire la navette entre les emplacements de la Maison de soins palliatifs d’Ottawa, au besoin.
