Being a Spectrum Live-in Companion is a rewarding position in which you will be able to build meaningful relationships with a senior and their family and make a real difference in their lives. In this role, you will be a valued and trusted live-in companion to a senior, helping them with day-to-day living activities including personal care, meal preparation and light housekeeping duties. You will also encourage and assist the senior in engaging in exercise, leisure and social activities to promote physical and mental wellbeing. As a Spectrum Live-in Companion , you will provide your clients with the best possible care and emotional support by listening, observing and communicating any concerns in the client’s physical and emotional condition so that they can receive the appropriate level of care to help them thrive in their own home.

Job Description
  • Encourage and participate in reading, games, and other activities to promote well-being and stimulate the mind and the spirit
  • Assist with personal care such as hygiene, grooming and basic care
  • Perform light housekeeping duties including vacuuming, dusting, bathrooms, and kitchen
  • Providecompanionship to the client in their home
  • Assists and/or provides general exercises/activities to maintain mobility and independence as directed by the client, their family or the Client Care Coordinator at the request of the family
  • Listen, observe, and communicateany concerns/changes in the client’s physical, emotional and/or environmental condition
Qualifications
  • Compassionate with a passion for helping others
  • Prior care giving experience is an asset
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful and courteous manner
  • Ability to speak other languages an asset
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check and TB Test (within 6 months)as a condition of employment
