Reporting to the Vice President of Immigration & Settlement Services (ISS), the Director plays a critical role in the development of programs and procedures in accordance with the mission, vision, guiding principles, core values and agency strategic direction. This position is integral to the Immigration and Settlement Service senior leadership team and focuses on the most vulnerable clients in our care, those requiring Wrap-Around Services.

Provides strategic management and oversight of the service area, and any other function as may be assigned.
Oversees the general management of a comprehensive group of programs, including program development, delivery and evaluation, and budget functions.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with program management, to identify program needs and provide support in seeking solutions.
Maintain awareness of external and internal social service, political and economic landscapes that may impact the agency.
Create strategic alliances with key stakeholders to better meet emerging, and future, client needs and enhance the agency and the immigration sector’s long-term strategy.
Collaborate with other members of the service leadership team to promote the agency’s mission by identifying and developing programs/services to meet changing community needs.


Provide expert support to leaders and teams throughout the agency, including in other service areas, as well as administration teams such as: Finance, Human Resources, Digital Services and Innovation, Internal Asset Management and Development and Community Relations teams.
Ensure employees under your leadership have established performance expectations and professional learning plans and hold an ongoing vision for the growth and development of staff and leaders within the Service Area.
Direct and participate in new business development activities to support agency objectives and goals.
Provide leadership in the development of short- and long-term strategic financial objectives.

Management
Oversee operational management of the Immigration and Settlement Service to ensure appropriate resource allocation, including staffing.
Provide guidance in the development of systems, processes, protocols, and tools to better support the facilitation, collection and sharing of program knowledge.
Streamline and optimize Service/Regional processes and controls for all programs you are accountable for through continuous improvement and optimization of technology solutions.
Recognize the inherent risks involved in the delivery of social service programming and be able to identify, evaluate and develop strategies to mitigate risk while maintaining quality service delivery and care.
Manage high-risk, complex, and multidisciplinary issues.
Develop metrics and monitor performance for area of responsibility.
Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Vice President of Immigration & Settlement Service.

Build trusting and effective relationships with key government stakeholders - delivering and supporting the VP ISS on the fulfillment and negotiation of the government contracts.
Create trusting and collaborative relationships internally and with key stakeholders within the Settlement and Re-Settlement services sector.

Given the pivotal role this individual will be expected to play in achieving the strategic objectives of the company and in supporting the success of the organization, it is essential that the successful candidate possess the following core competencies, experience, and attributes:

Bachelor's degree in human services, business administration or related discipline is required.
Prior experience at a senior level in the not-for-profit, charitable, or public sectors is preferred.
Exemplary written and verbal communication skills with experience in writing proposals, grants and/or contracts.
Ability to speak another language other than English, would be an asset.
Planning and Organizing
Flexibility and ability to meet the needs of 24-hour service delivery program models.
Ability to travel, including overnight stays when required, of approximately 10%.
Satisfactory Security checks including Police Information Check (CPIC) and Children’s Intervention Check.
Valid driver's license.
This position is hybrid, under the conditions that the successful candidate will be in the Catholic Social Services Immigration & Settlement Services office and/or be at their Reception Houses (2), 3 days a week, which is subject to change depending on the needs of the team.
