Calgary AB, Canada NES Fircroft Ltd Full time

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Calgary to support the substation protection & control design group. We offer a dynamic work environment with a highly experienced technical team, where you will be offered guidance and hands on training and continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.
Protection and control design including logic, schematic, wiring diagrams for utility and renewable substations.
Develop control building layout, P&C one line diagram, AC/DC schematics, control panel layout and wiring diagram, station service AC/DC distribution diagram.
Ensure communications take place between Design, Construction, and Testing & Commissioning and layout.
Prepare Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) and Engineering Design Specification (EDS) documents.
Prepare all relevant IFC drawings and engineering reports.
Provide engineering support during construction.
Complete station As-Built drawings and project close out
Act as Design lead on projects with guidance from Principal engineer.
Provide technical guidance to the P&C design team.
Perform a project management role on engineering only projects.
Track project progress for engineering activities to ensure budgets and schedules are met.
Provide weekly updates to senior management regarding projects progress, budgets and resourcing.
Provide on the job training for new hires and junior members of the team.
Oversee and review designs of projects to ensure technical requirements are met and perform quality checks.
Complete engineering and material cost estimates for bids/proposals.
Possibility of travel for site visits and to provide technical support during construction.
