In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, this position provides pharmacy services to patients in Northern Health. Monitors drug prescribing, drug distribution and drug therapy to ensure safe, effective, rational, legal and economic use of drugs. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 07:30 to 15:30. Position may be part of a future weekend rotation.
John Hospital and Health Centre has 44 Acute Care beds and 124 residential beds and is equipped to handle 22,000 ER visits per year. Some more highlights about the hospital:
• Endoscopy suite, 2 state-of-the-art operating rooms, plus a procedure room
• Ambulatory clinics including Cancer and Hemodialysis
• Medical and Surgical inpatient rooms (40 beds)
• 3 Intensive care units
• John also has the Health Unit and Primary Care Clinic which serve the community.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
• Are you an International Applicant? Baccalaureate degree in Pharmacy and current licensure with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or a combination of at least one year of hospital experience and advanced education courses. Active membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists is encouraged.
Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety type interventions.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, the public, medical staff and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, computer communication means. Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively. Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote patient-centred care that demonstrates care for and with patients and families, sensitivity to diverse cultures and preferences, patient advocacy and social justice concerns.
• Demonstrates creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of NH policies or other protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
• Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Cerner and Windows based programs. Demonstrated data analysis skills including appropriate data analysis and reporting tools.
