To support Victoria Hospital’s Mission, Vision, and Values to be an excellent community hospital/facility. To provide care/services to all patients, residents, staff and community members with compassion and respect. To demonstrate a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the Unit, Victoria Hospital’s and WRHA.
In collaboration with the Facilities Support Service Lead and/or Manager, the Chief Power Engineer assists co-ordination of the operations of the Power House.
Experience with operation and maintenance of the Physical Plant, and other equipment such as boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, stationary engines, compressors, generators, pumps, motors, and other related equipment in all areas throughout the hospital.
# Currently holds a valid 2nd Class Province of Manitoba Power Engineering Certificate in good standing (minimum of 5 yrs.).
Thorough knowledge of fired boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and all related equipment in the Power house, mechanical floors, and elsewhere in the facility.
# Basic Computer skills.
# Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
# This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
