Joining the UCDSB in an occasional capacity is a great way to gain experience for those looking to obtain a long-term occasional or permanent position with Upper Canada DSB. You can also apply directly to long-term occasional and permanent positions even if you are not currently on the occasional list.

~ Qualifications at Intermediate (Grade 9 and 10), and Senior levels (Grade 11 and 12)


Term Assignments (LTO) or Permanent vacancy) without first having to be on our Occasional Teacher lists. Your completed application on Apply to Education must include the following:

If your experience is in a day-to-day occasional capacity ensure that you list the length of time that you worked for that Supervisor and whether the assignment was casual day-to-day or in a long-term occasional capacity.
Placement Teacher References: If providing a Placement Teacher as a reference, The UCDSB will require confirmation and approval from the Principal at the Placement School that the deferred reference (Placement Teacher) is approved to provide reference on behalf of the Principal.
Applicants selected for an interview will be invited to attend a virtual live interview via Microsoft Teams. Candidates will be shortlisted based on school preferences, specific qualifications, and/or availability.
