JOB DESCRIPTION

Scale Hospitality seeking an experienced, highly imaginative Graphic Designer to join our growing team.

At Scale we are driven by curiosity and authenticity, and are devoted to providing world class dining experiences across our collection that includes FIGO, Miss Likklemore’s, Toronto Beach Club, AP, Lapinou and many more. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and overseeing our graphic design team, our new Graphic Designer will be supporting brand & marketing campaign development across all Scale and client brands. The ideal candidate will be a master creative and task-manager who is able to verse multiple projects and concepts at once, be able to create unique and original designs that align to our brand standards, is passionate about hospitality, and is motivated to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. Restaurant/hotel and high end brand design experience are strong assets, as is video editing capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Deliver creative and out-of-the-box designs, concepts, and layouts for print, digital (email, social, ads, etc), and websites that align with branding guidelines

· Deeply understand, practice, maintain, and improve (via own and team’s work) Scale and individual Scale concept’s brand standard’s & guidelines

· Develop new brands from scratch as needed, following standard development processes from briefing to research to inception to guidelines creation to final launch design needs

· Foster and maintain strong relationships with other depts as well as key suppliers including external print houses, paper/ink/branded items suppliers, print/ink/IT suppliers etc

· Collaborate with the Marketing and Leadership team in discussing business objectives and requirements for design material from conception to completion

· Own the design team’s daily and weekly projects calendar to ensure key business deadlines are met;
communicate with marketing team and other stakeholders for creation and updates of own and team’s weekly workload tasks

· Lead the organized maintenance of the design drive folders with the team, to ensure all open artwork files and final creative assets from every project are clearly named/filed/accessible

· Maintain expert level knowledge of relevant and new design techniques, technologies and print tools and share this knowledge and training with direct report/s

· Ensure own and direct report’s day to day, and special project work is completed on time and within budget (and ensure any external print orders made are aligned to best possible pricing levels/are necessary and responsible spends for the company)

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

· 3-5 years of graphic design experience;
hospitality and/or highend design experience not required but a bonus

· Relevant post secondary education

· Be able to multi-task and work under pressure

· Highly proficient in the use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, XD and/or Figma

Video editing skills not mandatory but strongly preferred;
proficiency in Adobe After Effects

· Experience in off-set printing requirements including prepress and press approvals is essential.

· Well versed in the latest design methods, practices, techniques, and associated principles

· Great communication and interpersonal skills

· Previous people/graphic designer management experience not required but a bonus
