What to expect in the role
In this role you will support the Human Resources Department. This position will assist with the Project of transferring, classifying, and uploading documentation from personnel folders to the new Document Management Module in our HRIS. This position will assist with recruitment functions through conducting reference calls, collecting onboarding documentation, and ensuring new hire information is correctly uploaded into their HRIS profile. This role will collaborate with the HR team and would be involved in different ongoing projects such as creation and review of Policies, creation of new training materials, creation of reporting templates, or creation of new hire site on SharePoint. This role will assist with basic HR functions on the team including scanning, uploading, and filing of documentation, responding to inquiries to the HR inbox, creating and distributing of Notice letters for employment changes, and other related tasks. This position could include supporting the accounting, IT, or Operations department for similar or joint projects through similar functions as listed above.

This position is great for individuals who are interested in gaining work-experience in Human Resources, Administration, and/or in a Non-Profit environment. This position will help develop skills in Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity and Innovation, Digital Skills, and Problem Solving abilities.

Schedule & Rate of Pay:
This position will be in our Main Offices located in NE Calgary. This position is 32 hours/week and the schedule may have some flexibility for the length of the contract. A typical schedule would be 8 hours days, 4 days a week between Monday - Friday, however we are willing to have some flexibility for what days the schedule will be. The rate for this position is $21.19/hr. This position is an 8 week contract.

  • Currently enrolled in, or have completed at least a 1- year Certificate or Diploma program related to Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field from a Canadian Institution (international education will be considered if education has been assessed for Canadian equivalencies)

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Grant - the successful candidate must meet the following to be eligible for this role:

  • Must be between 15 - 30 years at start of employment
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or a Person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Individuals in Canada under a work or student permit are not eligible for this position
Preferred Requirements
  • Previous experience in Office Environment
  • Experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
