Role: Team Lead - Battery Modeling Industry: Battery Management Software Location: Canada, remote (excluding PST) Salary: competitive + 15% bonus + equity We're exclusively partnered on this role with a with a market leading battery management software startup who develop state of the art AI driven software that is integrated into Batteries, OEMs and Fleets. As part of this next phase of their growth, they're adding a player/coach Battery Modeling Team Lead who will manage a team of 3 Battery Scientists & Developers, and drive forward battery science projects for the organization *Visa sponsorships/transfers cannot be provided for this role. Key Responsibilities 🔨: Manage and lead a team of 3 Battery Scientists and Battery Developers. Oversee the development and optimization of processes to improve efficiency, including responsible use of AI and productivity tools. Provide strategic direction for long-term planning and growth of the battery science function, including identifying new R&D opportunities. Develop and validate models simulating battery performance under varying conditions (e.g., charge/discharge cycles, temperature, degradation). Utilize and enhance simulation tools to predict battery life, efficiency, and performance for multiple chemistries (Li-Ion, Li Metal, Sodium, Lead Acid, etc.). Conduct rigorous testing on battery systems including performance, safety, and lifecycle assessments. Support the integration of cells into larger systems to ensure optimized storage, power delivery, and efficiency. Qualifications & Experience 📑: Bachelors, Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Min 5 years experience in battery engineering space Min 2 years experience in a managerial role in the battery space Strong experience in a player/coach role Strong exposure to ML and AI in the battery space Deep technical expertise in battery technologies, materials, and testing methods, with proficiency in Design of Experiments (DOE). Strong knowledge of battery estimation techniques (SOC, SOH, SOP, SOT) . Familiarity with systems engineering for applications in energy storage, eMobility, and robotics.. Why apply🎉?
