The Opportunity:

Port Saint John is seeking a passionate individual for a 14-month maternity leave coverage as the Decarbonization & Environment Specialist. Working closely with many areas of Port Saint John, this position is a key enabler to our corporate sustainability targets.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Completed university degree or college diploma focusing on Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years' experience in sustainability.
  • Working knowledge of net zero targets & initiatives and other related topics would be an asset.
  • Experience in project management would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Your Focus:

  • Oversee projects that will help Port Saint John reach corporate targets.
  • Manage annual greenhouse gas inventory data collection.
  • Lead collaboration between internal and external stakeholders on sustainability initiatives.
  • Bring environmental lenses to various projects and departments.
  • Develop and track applicable environmental metrics.
  • Develop and manage budget related to specific environmental projects.
  • Develop and maintain Environmental Management System as per legislative requirements.
  • Development and maintain Environmental Related Standard Operating Procedures as required.
  • Complete internal audit of Green Marine Program.
  • Identify opportunities to improve PSJ's standing within Green Marine.
  • Collaborate on the Corporate Social Responsibility program.
  • Participate in and/or support environmental incident investigations.
  • Liaise with Government Partners & Agencies as required.
  • Perform environmental inspections.
