Opportunity:

Our client, a highly respected Engineering Consulting Firm, is currently seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Engineering Manager (P.Eng Preferred) to join their team. The Electrical Engineering Manager is a critical function in the firm, where this individual will be leading the Electrical Engineering department and reporting to the Vice President.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  1. Responsible for distributing projects, allocating resources, planning project timelines, following budgets and milestones, communicating with clients for scheduling, and implementing tracking tools.
  2. Participate in business development initiatives to continue to grow the Residential Electrical division.
  3. Collaborate with Team Leads to ensure projects are organized, resources are trained, technical specs meet client requirements, and projects are profitable once finalized.
  4. Participate in company marketing and sales efforts, meeting new clients, introducing capabilities and services, particularly regarding electrical systems restoration.
  5. Supervise and coach Electrical team staff.
  6. Ensure the proper execution of Electrical projects.
  7. Review projects with Vice President and distribute resources.
  8. Share project objectives with the team.
  9. Be responsible for the quality of deliverables, costs, schedules, and project efficiencies.
  10. Provide forecasting reports to plan future project and resource allocations.
  11. Optimize operational processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives for projects.
  12. Participate in human resources tasks: recruitment, performance evaluations, employee development, etc.
  13. Provide technical training to the electrical team.
  14. Provide electrical engineering stamping duties as a registered P.Eng.
  15. Ability to manage a small team of 5 people.
Requirements:

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
Prefer an individual with 8 yrs of experience with extensive electrical design experience on building engineering and facilities such as generators.
Experience with Electrical load calculations, lighting design and analysis a plus
Familiarity with OESC, OBC, IEEE, NFPA, and other industry standards and codes
Experience in designing electrical power and lighting systems
Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing
Familiarity with providing guidance and support for others within a department
Analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills and abilities
