As a GIS Specialist at ACCIONA, you will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data to support various construction projects. You will work closely with project teams to provide spatial insights, optimize site selection, assess environmental impacts, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong GIS skills, attention to detail, and a passion for utilizing technology to drive project success.

As a GIS Specialist at ACCIONA, you will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial data to support various construction projects. You will work closely with project teams to provide spatial insights, optimize site selection, assess environmental impacts, and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong GIS skills, attention to detail, and a passion for utilizing technology to drive project success.

Job Description

  • Collect, organize, and maintain spatial data relevant to construction projects, including maps, satellite imagery, and survey data.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to support site selection, environmental impact assessments, and infrastructure planning.
  • Create maps, visualizations, and reports to communicate spatial insights to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate GIS data into project planning and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and zoning ordinances through spatial analysis and documentation.
  • Assist in asset management by tracking construction assets, equipment, and resources using GIS technology.
  • Stay informed about advancements in GIS technology and recommend innovative solutions to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working with GIS technology in a professional setting, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze spatial data.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, site planning, and environmental regulations is preferred.
  • GIS certification or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
