Our Red Deer Branch - Field Heavy Equipment Technician

Our Red Deer branch is looking for an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Field Heavy Equipment Technician for our Agriculture Division (John Deere).

Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose, repair & maintain all systems on agricultural equipment such as Tractors, Hay tools, and other Ag & Turf implements. This includes engine, transmission, electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, guidance & precision ag systems among others.
  2. Provide mechanical support from the field and travel to customers requiring diagnosis and repair.
  3. Perform preventative maintenance inspections; including fluid and various filter changes, testing of equipment, & adjustments for infield optimization.
  4. Reconditioning of pre-owned equipment.
  5. Accurately record field reports for service writer for all work done including warranty invoicing and records.
  6. Maintain communication with internal support to quickly diagnose problems and provide solutions.
  7. Develop relationships with customers in different communities in Alberta and build business in those communities.
Required Skills:
  • Required Experience: Heavy Equipment Technician or Agriculture Equipment Technician certification.
  • Previous Experience: Previous field/on-the-road technician experience would be a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills and a passion for problem solving.
  • Technical Skills: Experience in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining equipment.
  • Documentation: Ability to complete detailed repair order notes on each job.
  • Learning Mindset: The desire to continue learning updated equipment technology as the industry continues to evolve.
