Registered Practice Nurse - Temporary Full Time for 6 months Performs the functions of Registered Practical Nurse in compliance with the standards of practice for Registered Practical Nurse developed by the College of Nurses, and provides high quality nursing service that reflects the organization's resident centred approach, vision and policies. As a Unit Nurse, the Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for day to day supervision of unregulated staff and students in the unit and provide direct resident care with interdisciplinary team members as well as communications with families.
Specialization in Gerontology an asset.
Previous experience in a long term care setting
Proven clinical experience with a resident-centred care focus, from assessment, to education and documentation.
Demonstrated commitment to quality care and safety. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbally and in writing) and presentation skills to internal and external clients/residents
Computer literacy. Experience with RAI-MDS an asset
Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, nights and short shifts. May be required to work weekly weekend work).
Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset;understanding of Japanese an asset Working Conditions:
Temporary fulltime position for 6months, with possibilityof extension
Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
