Legal Counsel

Company Overview: We are a rapidly expanding small business seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. This vital role will support our growth by handling a broad spectrum of legal matters, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding our operations.
Corporate Legal Affairs: Advise on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business law.
Litigation Management: Represent the company in corporate litigations. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and manage any legal disputes effectively.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to employees, contractors, and other business agreements to ensure they align with the company’s interests and legal standards.
Legal Research and Compliance: Continuously research and analyze current laws that could impact the company. Provide actionable, strategic advice to ensure all business practices are compliant with current laws.
Solution-Oriented Legal Advice: Quickly assimilate and interpret legal information to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice to management. Must have a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to present complex legal concepts and strategies in an understandable manner.
Civil Litigation Support: Ability to draft small court claims, write up plaintiff and defense statements, prepare affidavit of documents, schedule case conferences, and appear and handle motions for documentary production or other matters.
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law
Proven experience in corporate legal settings, with a strong background in corporate law and litigation.
Experience in handling legal matters in both the United States and Canada is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple agreements and a variety of legal matters efficiently and with meticulous attention to detail.
Strong research skills and a proven track record of providing proactive legal solutions.
Experienced in drafting legal documents for civil litigation, including small claims and plaintiff/defense preparations.
