Our client, an EPCM headquartered in the Greater Hamilton area is seeking a full-time Senior Lead Piping Engineer to join their team.We offer:Life insuranceDental careVision careRRSP matchEmployee assistance programFlexible schedulePossible hybrid working arrangementsResponsibilities:Successfully execute and implement all aspects of the engineering design process for industrial process piping projectsMonitoring and ensuring the success of multiple projects executed by engineers and designersDevelop process flow sheets and/or design piping and equipment layouts, coordinate general design approachApprove flow sheet components, hardware, and/or proprietary itemsPerform and check engineering calculations for the sizing and selection of pumps, heat exchangers, and pressure-controlling devicesExecute and implement all aspects of the engineering design process for industrial process piping projectsApprove components and equipment and approve specifications generated by other team membersSuggest solutions to inconsistencies in design specifications or design requirements to Project Managers and initiate corrective actionPerform reviews and / or check critical design calculations, and stamp drawings as required by legislation, standardization, policy, or customer requirementApprove drawings and contentApprove the overall approach to detailingApprove the required specifications for a design packageApprove special reports, suggest unique solutions, participate in discussions with Sr. staffDevelop disciplined manpower schedulesDevelop project budgets, schedules, and quality standardsMonitor changes in the scope of workRequirements:Engineering Degree, University LevelP. Eng. required (CDN)8+ years relevant working experienceBasic knowledge of 3D modeling and CAD drafting practicesAbility to think logically and creativelyOrganized and self-directed, task and goal-orientedEffective, efficient, and professional in the execution of all required tasksPiping stress analysis knowledgeKnowledge of additional engineering disciplineAbility and desire to learn new software, applications, knowledge, and skillsSteel/Mining Industry experience (asset)
