The company is known for its strategic approach to managing risk, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maximizing financial outcomes for clients.Job SummaryReporting to the Vice President of Insurance & Risk Management Services, the incumbent plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development, implementation, and execution of all commercial property and casualty (P&C) insurance products. They collaborate with the team to devise and execute short and long-term strategies for the department.The department's responsibilities encompass underwriting, sales, and service of commercial lines property & casualty insurance to both new and established clients. Additionally, it spearheads the creation, implementation, and upkeep of a unified communications, marketing, and branding strategy across the organization and its various business lines to optimize sales opportunities.Job ResponsibilitiesMember ServiceDelivers strategic and tactical, direct Member touchpoints, to ensure insurance product service and positive Member experienceManages customer expectations and satisfaction with insurance solutionsDedication to the continual development of understanding for exposures and business processes presented by MembersUnderwritingDrives insurance policy management/issuance activities including, but not limited to, pre-renewal, policy issuance, endorsements, certificates and new business quotationsProvides management for Reciprocal insurance products such as Comprehensive General Liability, Fleet Vehicle, Property, Directors & Officers as well as Crime, Excess, Credit and any other insurance programs outside the purview of Reciprocal productsProvides counsel to Members on underwriting and risk management mattersDevelops strategies and tools to validate underwriting/rating informationRisk ManagementArranges and/or conducts risk management seminars for SubscribersProvides risk management analytic functions including but not limited to identification of trends/frequency and recommended actions to reduce loss exposure, loss frequency and severityManages customer expectations and satisfaction regarding risk management processResponsible to build strong relationships with aligned Business Units and partners to facilitate the identification and proper management of risks for clientsIdentify and research emerging risks, reporting issues and provide support in developing appropriate risk-based coverage for clientsDrafts client-facing risk management resources/communicationsOther duties as assigned.Business Development and SalesDevelopment of growth and retention plans, pertaining to all business units, particularly enabled by technology tools and traditional channelsResponsible for direct client relationship building activities and execution on tactics in support of sales with prospectsSkills, Knowledge, Experience Required:Post-secondary diploma in business administration, risk management or a relevant disciplineCertified Insurance Professional (CIP) designation; Certified Risk Management (CRM) designation an asset; RIBO license is an asset5+ years Commercial Lines underwriting experience with a strong emphasis on complex CGL and Property exposures, knowledge of the electricity industry an assetDirect knowledge of commercial property/casualty products such as CGL, D&O, Property, Boiler & Machinery, Crime, Fleet Automobile, CyberBroad knowledge of all classes of insurance & underwriting issuesAdvanced consultative skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships within all levels of an organizationStrong written and oral communication skills including the ability to create organized and articulate summaries of risk assessments/points of view that are easily understood by stakeholders/recipientsStrong detail orientation with ability to research, compile, and report on dataStrong presentation, negotiation, facilitation skillsExcellent time management and organizational skillsMotivated, high energy team playerStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)Working ConditionsProfessional office environmentSome Travel within Ontario required
