- Conduct new employee orientations and provide additional training as necessary
- Assist supervision with hazard assessments and job safety analysis
- Conduct health and safety audits to identify areas for improvement
- Recommend corrective actions and follow up on identified concerns
- Investigate and report incidents and accidents
The safety coordinator will work closely with operations to build a strong safety culture. This includes:
- Participating in monthly joint health and safety meetings
- Communicating safety information to division managers
- Organizing and facilitating regular toolbox talks
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant safety experience in an industrial or unionized environment
- Strong knowledge of legislated requirements
- Effective communication skills
- A detail-oriented focus with strong analytical expertise
