*As a Sr Fashion Buyer at Suzanne’s you will lead strategic procurement initiatives, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality fashion merchandise focusing 80% on line buying and 20% on product development for our private labels. Your role involves coaching and mentoring a team of fashion buyers, fostering strong vendor relationships, assist in planning initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration with a direct report to the Director of Purchasing.
*Buying and vendor management:
* Identify, evaluate and select suppliers that meet product quality, pricing, and delivery requirements.
* Select merchandise from brand lines keeping a visually cohesive flow of product into the stores to build an offer personalized for the Suzanne’s costumer.
* Develop seasonal clothing collections and oversee all the product development process for our Private Labels.
* Oversee the end –to-end buying process, from purchase order creation to delivery coordination.
* Adress any quality issues with products promptly and work with supplers to resolve them.
Provide leadership and guidance to the purchasing team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
* Oversee the activities of Buyers, ensuring the team's effectiveness in meeting procurement goals.
Planning and Forecasting:
* Assume responsibility for planning activities, including demand forecasting, inventory management, and procurement planning.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure purchasing activities align with production schedules and sales forecasts.
Market Analysis:
* Stay informed about market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments in the retail industry.
* Conduct competitive analysis to inform purchasing decisions and optimize product assortment.
Collaborate with other departments, including Visual Merchandising, Operations, and Warehouse, to ensure seamless coordination between purchasing, inventory management, stores, and merchandising activities.
Reporting and Analysis:
* Utilize data analytics tools to track and analyze product performance, customer behavior, and sales trends
* Generate regular reports on key performance indicators, providing insights into procurement metrics.
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or related field.
* Proven excellence in a buying position within the fashion industry, with a strong understanding of Canadian fashion trends and consumer preferences.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a passion for continuous improvement.
