The team is comprised of talented, creative thinkers who value teamwork, fostering a stimulating and welcoming atmosphere.Location: Our client, based in our nation’s capital, Ottawa, ON, our client values collaboration and follows a hybrid work model. Employees work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday to Thursday, with flexible work-from-home on Mondays and Fridays - WFH (Non-Negotiable).This position offers a competitive compensation package, including salary, annual bonus, defined pension plan (DPP), 4 weeks planned time away and moreEducation and Mandatory Experience RequiredBachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related fieldProven experience in satellite system architecture and design, with a minimum of 8-10 years in similar rolesStrong knowledge of satellite communication protocols, orbital mechanics, and space systemsExperience with software defined satellite communication payloadsFamiliarity with regulatory bodies and space industry standardsCGP security clearance eligibleMust be Canadian citizen or possess valid permanent resident statusMain ResponsibilitiesDefine and validate the system architecture and requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and customer needs. Issue recommendations and influence satellite system designContribute to the design and development of end-to-end communication, resource allocation, network management, service availability, EPFD compliance, satellite payload management, spectrum management, and user terminal integrationProvide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineersDevelop and maintain system architecture documentation, including subsystems definition, interfaces, and data flowsPlan and collaborate on the integration and testing of all system elementsIdentify and manage technical risks, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plansStay current with emerging satellite technologies and contribute innovative ideasCollaborate with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project successWe thank all applicants for their interest.
