SUMMARY OF POSITION As part of our Construction Management Team, our Site Superintendents work under limited supervision with a Project Manager (PM) and Consultants to complete quality construction projects while maintaining high safety standards. Site Superintendents must exercise considerable independent judgment and initiative, tact and courtesy in contacts with vendors, contractors, consultants and clients.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Set up Site office and establish positive relationships with affected business’ and/or peopleManage and direct all site personnelRead and interpret plans and specifications, provide clarification to site employees and trade contractorsManage and resolve all site related issuesDirect work of all Trade contractors, establish schedule, identify schedule impact, workflow, and priorities through the use of effective schedulingImplement and manage 4-week look ahead schedules in conjunction with major milestones identified on master construction scheduleDevelop scopes of work and details for Purchase Orders, Change Orders or Back-charges to tradesMonitor budget spending and advise on cost overruns and cost savingsSource site supplies and rental toolsRecord daily site reports, timesheets, and job progress photos to ensure projects are met or exceed required contract specificationsCoordinate inspections and occupancy permitsAssists with the development of a competent and efficient construction site team by recommending the employment of qualified applicants and identifying when current site staff need additional trainingParticipate in weekly and/or monthly consultant/client/trade meetingsOther duties as requireKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Dedicated to quality and service with 5+ years of successful experience in a technical role, with proven ability to manage and lead projectsDemonstrated work experience with custom home projects ranging from $10M up to $25MCompleted post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related disciplineWork well under pressure, juggling multiple responsibilities with numerous interruptions Strong local contacts for qualified sub-contractors; developed working relationships with numerous trades, suppliers and industry professionalsExperience with Procore is an assetExcellent interpersonal communication, client management, and team managementCurrent with all construction and building codes, standards, and regulations Comprehensive knowledge of current construction practices and methodologiesHold, at minimum, Level 1 Occupational First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain oneThank you for your interest in Kindred Construction.
