Position: Mobile Railcar Repair Manager – Operations Management Location: ONSITE – Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Key Duties & Responsibilities: Operations Support & Logistics • Assist the Sr. Manager with scheduling, prioritizing service requests, and managing MRU operations. • Act as interim manager when needed; ensure work orders and field reports are accurate and timely. • Oversee material shipment to domestic and international sites; develop metrics to reduce downtime. Locomotive Maintenance • Lead and perform advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on locomotives (EMD engines, brake systems, compressors, turbos, etc.). • Supervise crews and conduct inspections to meet regulatory and customer standards. • Safely operate repair tools and read blueprints and schematics. Workforce Leadership • Mentor technicians; foster a respectful, inclusive culture. • Support SQDC practices for continuous improvement and root-cause problem-solving. Compliance & Customer Relations • Maintain certifications and ensure regulatory and customer site requirements are met. • Build strong internal and external relationships to align MRU operations with business goals. Additional Duties • Assist with vehicle and facility upkeep, inventory, and general maintenance as needed. Qualifications • Strong hands-on experience with locomotive repairs. • Supervisory background in technical or industrial settings. • Knowledge of FRA, DOT regulations, and safety protocols. • Excellent communication and leadership skills. • Certifications (TWIC, MSHA, ISNET) preferred or attainable.
