We are a dynamic group of engineers & drafters in a fast-paced environment and constantly growing company.Summary:Delcor Engineering is actively seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team and participate in a wide range of projects across Canada. The successful P.Eng will gain valuable experience in the Civil Engineering industry involving heavy civil project design including design of foundations, structural steel buildings and mezzanines. The Engineer will plan, schedule and or complete complex engineering assignments requiring judgment, and independent evaluation. We require a highly motivated, people-oriented individual who is eager to tackle a wide range of design challenges.Responsibilities / Duties:· Perform structural analysis on concrete, steel and cold-form designs for a wide range of mezzanine projects using SAP2000, ETABS, and TEKLA. Candidate must have basic on grade, slab, and retaining, for new and existing steel structures and mezzanines.· Draft structural foundation drawings using CAD and Advance Steel and write technical reports.· When necessary, carry out site inspections and field reviews.· Development of structural models.· Coordinate and manage time spent on design tasks to meet established project-specific work plans.· Keep detailed records of all work including design calculations and models.· When necessary, correspond/communicate with contractors.· Complete review of shop drawings, mezzanine plans, and foundation drawings for permit and construction.· Knowledge of basic geotechnical knowledge in isolated footings (soils mechanic) is required· Uses initiative and judgment to resolve problems, interprets engineering specifications, investigates design and field engineering difficulties and coordinates work schedules.· Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, designers, and engineers.· Perform assignments independently.· When necessary, resolve disputes and conflicts related to assigned projects and clients alongside the administrative department.Qualifications and skills:· Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Required) with focus on Structural Engineering (Masters in Structural Engineering is an asset)· Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the Province of Ontario in Civil or Structural Engineering (Required)· Proactive, Strong team leader with strong communication and verbal skills.· In depth knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), the Ontario Building code (OBC) and the CSA S16 (knowledge of the CHBDC is an asset)· Experience with Pre-Engineered steel buildings, mezzanines and foundation design.· Experience in various foundation designs including floating slab, pier foundation and piles· A solid understanding of structural analysis design in steel and foundation modeling· Knowledge of project planning, procurement, and construction phases· Working knowledge of building materials, construction techniques and relevant CSA codes· Inquisitive nature; thrives on learning and advancing engineering knowledge· Good multitasking and prioritization abilities; comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment· Ability to work and complete tasks independently, make decisions and take responsibility for technical matters. Work with minimal direction.· Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 Advanced Steel and TEKLA· Professional Stamps in other provinces and regions is an asset.· In the process or has obtained their Ontario stamp and willing to obtain more stamps across Canada· Expertise in Advance Steel· 5+ Years of experience (Required)· A valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.· Must be able to commute to Markham daily (this is NOT a remote job)What we offer:· Travel 10% of the time or less (compensation for transportation is provided)· A competitive salary· Monday-Friday (40 hours/week)· Leverage your current skills while developing new skills.· Opportunities for growth within the company and the possibility to expand stamp qualifications across Canada.
