Day-to-dayInsight Global is seeking a Python Engineer to join a large global technology client onsite in Toronto. For this position we are looking for a python engineer with at least three years of experience with a strong track record building applications. The successful candidate will have experience working in machine learning, specifically with large language models. This individual should be someone with strong design and coding experience and a great drive for success ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain software to support research projects at the intersection between human-computer interaction & generative AI.Design, build, and test a wide range of Python-based systems (e.g., building research systems, backend development, data analysis, interfacing with LLMs, interfacing with machine learning and deep learning models, computer vision, signal processing).Collaborate with other researchers and engineers in the various phases of the research project (i.e., ideation, experimental design, data analysis and result sharing).Minimum QualificationsMaster’s or PhD degree in computer science or related field.3+ years of experience with Python, developing reliable and maintainable software systems.3+ years of experience utilizing general software engineering skills, including debugging, version control, logging, documentation, code review, etc.Basic proficiency in frontend development (e.g. user interfaces, single-page applications, markup language).Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience with large language models (LLM) and generative AI.Experience with machine learning and deep learning.Experience with augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR).Experience with Unity and C#.Experience in a research environmentFamiliarity with the fundamentals of human-computer interactions, design, psychology and cognitive sciences, or related fields.
